Monumental

Last week, I had the opportunity to watch the movie “Monumental.” It was produced and narrated by Kirk Cameron. The documentary focuses on the history of the founding of the United States. Even so, it should have special meaning for each Christian here in Canada as well because it points out the commitment those who came to North America had in God in spite of great personal hardships. It also shows the tremendous value they placed on integrity, principles and family.

In this age of instant gratification and endless entitlement, I wonder if we could ever persevere remotely in the same way. As a nation, we no longer even teach our children about God. What was once the custom of reciting the “Lord’s Prayer” in schools each morning is now legally banned. Christians in Canada are now being squeezed out by godless opponents. Interestingly, Congress once required that copies of the Holy Bible be distributed for study in all public schools!

Perhaps it is time to once again look at our religious foundations and shore them up. A start might be to read the booklet, Is the Bible True?   Another resource is the booklet, Life’s Ultimate Question – Does God Exist?
